AIDM 0.1.0: the first release
25 October 2026
AIDM 0.1.0 is out, together with AIDM API 2.5.0 and four open datasets of real surveys.
What it is. The engine is based on ODX 3.8.4 and the task API on NodeODX 2.4.0. Processing and API behaviour are unchanged, so results match ODX 3.8.4, and this release makes no speed or accuracy claims. What is new is how the engine is built, tested and shipped.
What is new.
- Every image is tested before it is published. Each release image processes a real survey from start to finish, and is published only if the orthophoto, elevation model, point cloud and textured model all come out. That covers the CPU image on x86-64 and arm64, and the GPU image on a real NVIDIA GPU as well as on a machine without one.
- What you pull is what was tested. The release workflow checks that each published image is the exact image that passed, and the release notes list the digests.
- One GPU image for any machine. It uses CUDA when an NVIDIA GPU is present and falls back to the CPU when it is not.
- You always know what you run. Logs, reports and GeoTIFF metadata show
AIDM 0.1.0 (ODX 3.8.4), andGET /inforeports the AIDM and upstream versions. - Four open datasets. Real surveys of 73 to 905 images at 20 megapixels with RTK positions, on Hugging Face under CC BY 4.0. The smallest one is the dataset for every test on real images from now on.
Try it.
docker run -p 3000:3000 ghcr.io/aidronemap/aidm-api:2.5.0
Then open http://localhost:3000, or add it as a processing node in WebODM.
What comes next. Per-stage profiling and published benchmarks against ODX, then the first speedups and the cloud layer. See the roadmap.
Credits. AIDM stands on the work of the ODX and WebODM maintainers and of OpenDroneMap. It is an independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
